Part II: Advanced Techniques

In the upcoming weeks you will focus on advanced techniques in biochemistry.

  • Homology Modeling
  • Applications of Fluorecence
  • Applications of NMR
  • Isothermal Titration Calorimetry for studying Protein-Ligand interactions

Most techniques will continue the theme of working with enzyme Lysozyme. The labs will be strongly connected to the classroom topics (ie homology modeling, theory of fluorescence, protein stability and thermodynamics). Two of the labs will be connected in theme. You will use two techniques to monitor stability of lysozyme - fluorescence and NMR. So the in addition to your discussion of each result you should include some final analysis comparing the results generated from the experiments.
